Privacy Policy

Last updated: 21/04/2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Attributer ("Attributer", "we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information.

If you have any questions about this policy, please contact us at [email protected].

1. Who we are

Attributer is operated by A.J Beashel and A.R Beashel, a partnership trading as Attributer (ABN: 82 552 602 017), based at 18 Lesley Close, Elanora Heights, NSW, Australia.

2. How Attributer works (and what we do NOT collect)

Attributer is a JavaScript tool that our customers install on their own websites. When a visitor lands on a customer's website, the Attributer script runs in the visitor's browser to determine which marketing channel they came from (Paid Search, Organic Search, Referral, etc.) and stores that information in a first-party cookie on the customer's domain.

When the visitor submits a form, the Attributer script writes the attribution data into hidden form fields. The customer's own form tool (e.g. Webflow, HubSpot, Gravity Forms) captures the submitted data and sends it to the customer's chosen destination.

Crucially: the Attributer product does not operate any servers that receive end-user data. No information about website visitors or form submissions ever reaches Attributer's infrastructure. All processing happens entirely in the visitor's browser and within the customer's own systems.

This means:

  • We do not collect, store, or process any information about visitors to our customers' websites
  • We do not see or store any form submissions made on our customers' websites
  • We do not have access to our customers' leads, contacts, or form data
  • We are not a data processor for end-user data — we are simply the provider of a piece of software that runs in the visitor's browser

If you are a visitor to a website that uses Attributer and want to know how your data is handled, please contact the website operator directly. They are the data controller for any information collected through their website.

3. What data we DO collect

We collect data in two contexts only:

3.1 Visitors to attributer.io

When you visit our marketing website at attributer.io, we may collect:

  • Your IP address and approximate location (city-level)
  • Your browser type, device type, and operating system
  • Pages you view and referrer URL
  • Any information you submit through forms on our site (name, email, company, message)

3.2 Attributer customers

When you sign up as a paying Attributer customer, we collect:

  • Your name and email address
  • Your password (stored hashed, not in plain text)
  • Your company name and website domain
  • Billing information — processed by Stripe; we do not store credit card numbers
  • Configuration data (the settings you've chosen for your Attributer account)
  • Support communications (emails, chat messages) when you contact us

4. How we use this data

We use website visitor data to:

  • Operate and improve attributer.io
  • Respond to your enquiries
  • Measure the performance of our marketing
  • Prevent fraud and abuse

We use customer data to:

  • Provide the Attributer service
  • Process billing and manage subscriptions
  • Communicate with you about your account
  • Provide customer support
  • Improve and develop our product

We do not sell your data, and we do not use it for targeted advertising outside of measuring the performance of our own marketing campaigns.

5. Who we share data with

5.1 Service providers

We share data with the following providers to operate our business:

  • Stripe — payment processing
  • Email providers — transactional and support emails
  • Hosting providers — for serving attributer.io and the Attributer JavaScript

These providers only receive the data necessary to perform their services.

5.2 Legal requirements

We may disclose data if required by law, court order, or government request, or to protect our rights and the safety of others.

5.3 Business transfers

If Attributer is acquired, merged, or sold, customer data may be transferred to the acquiring party. We will notify customers in advance.

5.4 We do NOT share end-user data

Because Attributer does not collect or store any data about visitors to our customers' websites, there is nothing to share. The Attributer product does not send visitor data to any third party — visitor data stays in the visitor's browser and in our customer's own systems.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights regarding your personal data, including:

  • Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
  • Correction — ask us to correct inaccurate data
  • Deletion — ask us to delete your data
  • Objection — object to our processing of your data
  • Portability — receive your data in a portable format

To exercise any of these rights, email us at [email protected]. We will respond within 30 days.

If you are a visitor to a website that uses Attributer and want your data deleted, please contact the website operator as they, not Attributer, control the data collected through their website.

7. How we protect your data

Our security measures include:

  • Encryption of data in transit (HTTPS) and at rest
  • Hashed password storage
  • Access controls limiting who can access customer data
  • Regular security reviews
  • Payment card data handled by Stripe (PCI compliant) — never stored on our systems

No system is perfectly secure. If we become aware of a data breach that affects you, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law.

8. International data transfers

Some of our service providers (including Google, Stripe, and certain hosting providers) are based in the United States or other countries. If you are accessing Attributer from outside those countries, your data may be transferred to and processed there. We take appropriate safeguards to ensure international transfers comply with applicable data protection laws.

9. Cookies on attributer.io

The attributer.io website uses cookies for:

  • Essential cookies — authentication and basic site functionality
  • Payment cookies — Stripe, for fraud detection during checkout

You can disable cookies in your browser settings. Disabling essential cookies may break parts of the website.

Important: the "Attributer" cookie that you may see on websites that use our product is a first-party cookie set on the customer's domain, not on attributer.io. It stores marketing attribution data for that website only. We do not have access to it.

10. Children's privacy

Attributer is not intended for use by children under 13 (or under 16 in the European Economic Area). We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe we have collected data from a child, please contact us at [email protected] and we will delete it.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we make significant changes, we will notify customers by email and update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of Attributer after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
